Whose face do you see when you look in the mirror? Is it the literal “you” or the “you” filtered through your mood and situation at the time of viewing? When we look at another’s face or at a picture, are we able to decipher what lies behind the surface?

All the works in this show ask the viewer, not only to engage with the subject, but also to consider the nature of that interaction, to contemplate the ways in which assumptions have been challenged, not only by the images themselves but also by the ways in which they have been presented. As this process unfolds, each viewer will have participated in the deconstruction, reinvention and transformation that are essential to the human search for truth.
